• Backstage News On Who Came Up With Nikki Cross’ Superhero Gimmick

As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, Nikki Cross debuted a new superhero gimmick.

She teamed up with Alexa Bliss to defeat the team of Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler to qualify for the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

According to NXT wrestler Killian Dain (Nikki’s real-life husband), this superhero gimmick was Nikki’s own idea.

Here’s what he tweeted:

“She had an idea and saw it brought to life. Very excited to see whats next! Go go Nikki!!!!”

Nikki tweeted the following about her new character:

“I don’t have superpowers. I can’t fly. I don’t have super strength.

But putting on my mask, my cape, my gauntlets, my armband, my whole outfit on……makes me feel like I can try anything.

I might fall down. But il get back up, each and every time. We all will.”

The Hurricane took to Twitter to say that a lot of his friends also laughed at his superhero gimmick, but he made it work:

“Yup. So did a lot of my friends and peers. But I got it over, so over in fact, that THREE other Talents became derivatives of MY character. How often does that happen? And now @NikkiCrossWWE steps up to the plate and I’m gonna support her every step of the way! Fly Nikki Fly.”

Nikki replied the following to him:

“Your blessing on this means so much to me. It’s important. Nobody will ever ever replace Hurricane Helms. He’s one in a gazillion. I treasure your support and hope to make you proud as I carve my path. I just gotta track the Hurricane down first! I keep missing him at #WWERaw.”
