Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Xavier Woods and Charlotte Flair.
• Xavier Woods is currently absent from WWE’s Live Events, notably missing from recent RAW episodes alongside New Day member Kofi Kingston.
Woods is taking time off the road to recover from undisclosed injuries. Although the specific nature of the injuries and his return date are unclear, he was in Birmingham, Alabama recently, a common location for WWE talent requiring surgery.
Woods was previously promoted for the post-Christmas live event tour, but has been removed from advertisements.
According to PWInsider, the tentative plan for his return to the road with WWE is within the first two weeks of January.
His last match was on November 27th in a #1 Contenders Tag Team Turmoil Match on RAW.
• Michael Cole announced on commentary that Charlotte Flair will be out of action for 9 months due to the knee injury she suffered during her match against Asuka.
This means she will miss WrestleMania 40, which is less than 4 months away.
Charlotte suffered a torn ACL, a torn meniscus & a torn MCL.
According to PWInsider, Charlotte will undergo surgery in January, which means her return date would be sometime in October 2024:
“Charlotte Flair is scheduled for knee surgery in early January. If the 9 month estimate that was publicly stated by WWE is true, that would put her at an October 2024 return.”
