On this day in Pro Wrestling history on November 23, 1989, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘WWF Survivor Series 1989’ LIVE on PPV from the Rosemont Horizon in Rosemont, Illinois.
The pay-per-view had the tagline “The WWF Thanksgiving Night Tradition!”.
This was the 3rd annual ‘Survivor Series’ event since it started in 1987.

• Backstage Reaction To Samoa Joe’s Commentary Work On RAW
As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, former United States Champion Samoa Joe worked as a commentator.
Joe filled in for Dio Maddin, who is currently selling Brock Lesnar’s attack.
According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials were really impressed with Joe’s work on commentary:
“A bright spot on the show was the work of Samoa Joe in the Dio Maddin spot as an announcer. He was fresh, quick, and got everything over with a no-nonsense delivery. We were told that everyone recognized how good Joe is.”
Joe is currently out of action with a broken thumb.
