• Bad News For Asuka Fans

Asuka remains out of action, and her WWE return doesn’t appear to be coming any time soon. Fightful Select reports that the former Women’s Champion is still recovering from an injury she suffered in May 2024, shortly after losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. At the time of her injury, WWE expected her to miss the rest of the year and WrestleMania 41 in 2025 as well.

Although there were early talks within WWE creative about what she could do once she returns, sources told Fightful those discussions came as a surprise, given how far off her return still is.

There’s no sign of her being cleared yet, and no immediate plans for her to come back.

• Reason Behind Stephanie Vaquer Losing The NXT Women’s Championship

In the main event of last night’s NXT, Jacy Jayne defeated Stephanie Vaquer after interference from Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

Jayne tweeted the following after her title win:

“To everyone who ever doubted me, called me the third wheel, said I’d never make it…

HAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Never doubt me again.”

Stephanie lost the title because she’s being called up to the WWE main roster. According to PWN, Vaquer will join the RAW on Netflix roster soon. They also noted:

“Stephanie Vaquer chose to go to NXT to get acclimated to WWE. She’s ready and will be one of the faces of the women’s division on the main roster for the future now.”

• Backstage AEW Reaction To Hangman Page Defeating Will Ospreay

At the AEW Double Or Nothing 2025 PPV, “Hangman” Adam Page secured a victory over Will Ospreay in the finals of the 2025 Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament, earning a shot at Jon Moxley’s AEW World Championship at All In: Texas.

According to Fightful Select, people backstage in All Elite Wrestling were shocked after Hangman defeated Ospreay, but not in a bad way, as a lot of people expected Ospreay to win this match.

Page’s win marked his return to the main event title scene after a two-year absence. The match was highly praised for its intensity and storytelling, with both competitors delivering a performance that exceeded expectations.

Ospreay, despite the loss, remains a top contender, and his performance at Double or Nothing further solidified his status as one of AEW’s premier talents. He tweeted the following after his loss:

“Get the belt back cowboy.”
