Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, involving Kenny Omega and SmackDown.

• Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho were scheduled to take on Ricky Starks and Big Bill (fka Big Cass in WWE) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at the Worlds End PPV on December 30th, but it looks like this won’t happen anymore.

Omega announced the following today:

“I can’t really sugar coat this. I’m out indefinitely. I tried to keep pushing past the pain for as long as I could until it became too much.

Luckily doctors caught me when they did. I’ll be here so in the mean time, please enjoy wrestling!”

• WWE recently capitalized on the return of the Latino World Order (LWO), generating significant revenue. However, the faction faced issues recently due to Santos Escobar’s heel turn.

Escobar attacked Rey Mysterio, who is currently off TV due to knee surgery, alleging favoritism toward Carlito. Following the attack, there were discussions about Escobar recruiting new associates for the feud.

WWE discussed Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, who are currently in NXT, to align with Escobar on the main roster.

PWInsider reports that Garza and Carrillo are expected to return to the main roster on tonight’s SmackDown in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where they might be involved in the ongoing feud as previously suggested.
