• Bad News For LA Knight Heading Into WrestleMania 42
Despite being one of WWE’s most consistently over Superstars, LA Knight’s path to a world championship remains blocked by a persistent creative hurdle. The Mega Star’s failure to secure a top title shot is not due to a lack of momentum or popularity, but rather a simple and deliberate refusal from those in power.
Wrestling insider Self Made Pro recently weighed in on the situation, stating that the prevailing sentiment among decision-makers is that they “don’t like him like that,” suggesting a personal or entrenched reluctance to elevate him into the world title picture.
This resistance remains entrenched even though Knight’s success defies typical booking logic: any wrestler selling massive amounts of merchandise and eliciting years of huge audience responses would conventionally be given a major title run.
According to this source, the booking authority simply does not care to push him unless they are forced to do so by overwhelming external pressure.
The immediate outlook for LA Knight’s championship aspirations remains bleak. Although he recently defeated Jey Uso to advance to the finals of “The Last Time Is Now” tournament and has a storyline involving CM Punk in the works, the insider noted that these opportunities will not be rewarded with gold.
Knight is not expected to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Punk and will likely receive “scraps” for his role at WrestleMania 42, confirming that the current status quo – where he is a prominent figure but not a champion – is firmly in place for the foreseeable future.
On this Friday’s SmackDown, LA Knight will face Gunther in the final of The Last Time Is Now tournament, with the winner facing John Cena in the 17-time World Champion’s final match.
