Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
• Roman Reigns, who absolutely dominated WWE continuously for nearly four years, had been the company’s top star leading up to WrestleMania 40. However, his historic Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign was brought to an end by Cody Rhodes.
Since losing his title, Reigns’ future has been shrouded in uncertainty, with expectations that he would take a lengthy break from WWE television. Speculation about his return has been rife as WWE gears up for SummerSlam, its biggest event of the summer.
Fueling these rumors, Reigns was recently spotted training with a well-known bodybuilder, Kai Greene. Additionally, he was initially advertised for the final SmackDown before SummerSlam, further stoking anticipation among fans.
However, WWE has seemingly changed its plans regarding Reigns’ return. New promotional material released by WWE and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, for the August 2nd SmackDown does not feature Reigns. Instead, the lineup includes Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Jade Cargill, and Bianca Belair for the SummerSlam go-home edition of SmackDown.

This development suggests that Reigns’ hiatus might extend beyond SummerSlam. Nonetheless, his omission from the promotional materials does not definitively rule out a return by then. WWE fans can only wait and see when The Head of the Table will make his much-anticipated comeback.

“This is the exact moment the WWE Universe stopped liking Cody Rhodes
And started to LOVE him.”
Cody was embarrassed before this match. Here’s what he tweeted:
“I didn’t win this match, Chicago won it for me.
I was so embarrassed and dejected, nothing in the eyes and just enough left in the tank for one dance.
Just the clips are wild enough for me.”
