• Banned Wrestlers Were Mentioned On This Week’s AEW Dynamite

In the main event of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed defeated ROH, IWGP & AAA Tag Team Champions FTR to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

After the match, Gunn Club revealed that The Briscoes have challenged FTR to a Double Dog Collar Match for this ROH Tag Team Titles at this Saturday’s ROH Final Battle 2022 PPV.

You can watch it below:

This was interesting because Fightful Select reported earlier this year that a “person of influence” in WarnerMedia (parent company of TBS & TNT, where AEW’s TV shows air) didn’t want any mention of The Briscoes on AEW programming.

Jay Briscoe’s homophobic tweets from 2013 coming to light was the reason for this move by the WarnerMedia official.

Earlier this year, FTR faced The Briscoes at ROH Supercard Of Honor and ROH Death Before Dishonor, and won both matches.

Tony Khan recently noted that he tried to book a match between both teams on AEW programming, but couldn’t (thus implying that the WarnerMedia report is true).

MJF recently mentioned Hulk Hogan in one of his promos as well, who is also a name that is banned from AEW (as Tony Khan has noted in the past).
