• A lot of people in WWE are trying to finish their story. Baron Corbin has finished his story.
It took 9 years for Corbin to win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
In 2015, he teamed with Rhyno in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in NXT, but they lost in the finals.
Corbin finished this story in 2024 by winning the Dusty Cup alongside Bron Breakker at the NXT Vengeance Day premium live event.
• In the main event of the NXT Vengeance Day 2024 premium live event, Ilja Dragunov defeated Trick Williams to retain the NXT Championship.
After the match, Carmelo Hayes turned heel and assaulted Williams with a Steel Chair.
In a backstage interview after the show, Hayes said the following about his decision to turn his back on his friend:
“Whooped.”

According to Fightful Select, nobody knew about Carmelo’s heel turn except the men involved in the main event:
“There was a lot of secrecy surrounding the main event aftermath, as rehearsals for the main event were kept to those who were directly involved in putting it together.”
