Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Batista and Sid.
• Batista retired from WWE in 2019. His final match took place at WrestleMania 35, where he lost to Triple H in a No Holds Barred match. Ric Flair was also involved in this match, with Shawn Michaels on commentary.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Batista said he misses being in a WWE ring and wants to experience making his entrance to his iconic theme song again, but he won’t do it because it will tarnish the dream ending to his career.
Here’s what The Animal said:
“I did (know it would be my last match), I just didn’t tell anybody else because I didn’t want it to be a big ordeal. I didn’t want to go out and do a tour and give a speech; I wanted to have my match and call it a career on my own terms.
The way I wanted to go out was like a dream for me; it was perfect and romantic. Wrestlers don’t usually get to choose their exit, but I did. I went out on my own terms, with the opponent I wanted, and I will never tarnish that.
It’s not that I don’t miss it — I do. I miss the crowd, the energy, and I dream about walking out and hearing my entrance music. But I know that if I were to do that, I would just tarnish my storybook ending, and I’m just not willing to do that.
There’s always temptation because I miss it, and every time I hear my music, I want that feeling again. It’s like a drug, pure adrenaline that I will never get anywhere else. I just have to come to terms with the fact that my time has passed.”

• 2 Years before Sid Eudy’s (Sid Justice / Sycho Sid / Sid Vicious) near career-ending leg injury, he and PCO (Quebecer Pierre in WWF and Carl Ouellet in WCW) briefly lived together in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Reflecting on their time together, PCO described Eudy as a “kind-hearted, yet edgy” man. He recalled:
“While I was living at his house, he was always buying bikes for the poor kids in town, and I got to go with him to deliver them.
He was always leaving food for poor people that couldn’t (afford it) just to help them feed their animals, their dogs or whatever.
He was a nice person, but he was very edgy at the same time; He could snap quick.”
