• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday
Today would have been the 59th birthday of Old School WWF Veteran Doug Furnas.
The former world-class powerlifter (986lbs Squat, 600lbs Bench Press, 826lbs Deadlift) wrestled for various promotions over the years, such as Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (1990), Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling (1996, 1997-1998) and the World Wrestling Federation (1996-1997).
Furnas passed away in 2012 from Atherosclerotic & hypertensive heart disease.

• Becky Lynch Might Not Get Her Wish At WrestleMania 35
During an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch talked about her cancelled match with Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series 2018 PPV.
Becky thinks she should face Ronda in the main event of WrestleMania 35 as she thinks that’s the match that the fans want to see the most:
“Hopefully, it will lead to bigger and better things. They want to see me and Ronnie. They do want to see it on a bigger stage and WrestleMania is a big stage. It’s the one people care about the most, so it should be in the main event.”
However, Becky might not be getting what she wants at WrestleMania 35.
WrestleMania 35 is less than 4 months away and WWE would usually have their top WrestleMania matches planned out by now, but that’s not the case this time.
According to the Dirty Sheets, WWE doesn’t have any match finalized for WrestleMania 35 so far after they were forced to book Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series 2018.
Dirty Sheets then noted that WWE officials feel that the hottest Women’s Division matches that they can book for WrestleMania 35 are:
– Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair (Rematch)
– Becky Lynch vs. Nia Jax
Storyline wise, both these matches make sense as Charlotte destroyed Rousey at Survivor Series 2018, but the match ended via DQ. On the other hand, Nia delivered a devastating punch to Becky which resulted in a broken nose and concussion for Becky.
However, this might not be a good news for fans of “The Man” as they were expecting a showdown between Rousey & Lynch at WrestleMania 35.
All they can do now is hope that WWE officials change their mind and book the Rousey vs. Lynch match which was originally scheduled to take place at Survivor Series 2018.
There’s no update yet on if WWE still plans to have Ronda vs. Charlotte match main event WrestleMania 35. This decision depends on The Rock’s involvement at WrestleMania 35.
As we noted before, The Rock will main event WrestleMania 35 if he plans to have a match at the event. If not, then we might get the first ever women’s WrestleMania main event match.
