Becky Lynch revealed an emotional moment involving her daughter Roux during an episode of Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer, explaining how her little girl reacted the first time she saw her mother perform as a heel in WWE.
Lynch said their daughter had enjoyed wrestling up to that point and had even watched the women’s ladder match that night from the front row. But everything changed when Becky came out for her match and the crowd started chanting against her.
According to Becky, her daughter could handle seeing her be mean or even get beat up, but there was one thing she could not accept. As Becky put it, “She was okay with me being mean. She was okay with me getting beat up. But when the crowd started chanting ‘Becky sucks,’ she could not take it.”
Lynch said that the chant genuinely hurt her daughter, who didn’t understand why people were saying something negative about her mother. Becky recalled the moment, saying “She was like, ‘My mama doesn’t suck. Why are they saying mama sucks?’” The confusion and hurt overwhelmed her, and Becky said, “She just bursts into tears and had to come back.”
Becky tried to explain the situation in the simplest terms possible, telling her daughter that the negative chants were actually part of the job, not a reflection of who she is as a person.
Lynch said she tried to reassure her by saying, “That’s me. I’m doing my job… It means that I’m good at my job. I want them to say Becky sucks.”
But her daughter still couldn’t understand why the crowd would chant something hurtful about her mom, repeating, “But you don’t suck.”
The moment stuck with Becky, who admitted, “She couldn’t. She still doesn’t get it. And every now and again she’ll ask, ‘Why was they saying mama sucks?’”
Seth Rollins also recalled the night, saying Becky came straight from her match to their bus, frustrated about her performance but immediately softened when she saw their daughter.
He said their daughter kept bringing it up, asking repeatedly, “Why was they saying mama sucks?” and later, when watching Becky on TV, she again asked, “Did they like mama?” Becky told her, “No, no, baby. They got to boo her. That’s Mama’s doing her job.”
