Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Big E, Bobby Lashley and Cody Rhodes.

• Bobby Lashley, absent from WWE television recently, might be leaving the company soon.

According to Fightful Select, his WWE contract is expiring within the next month, and he has been removed from WWE’s internal roster list, though he remains on the official website:

“Sources have told us that he plans on continuing wrestling if for some reason an extension is not reached with WWE. Lashley has not been factored into WWE creative plans since the spring.

Though we haven’t heard of specific aspirations to continue fighting (in MMA) of late, we’re told by those close to him that it isn’t out of the realm of possibility, and he’d told Fightful in the past couple of years if the right situation presented itself he would again.”

Big E, who defeated Lashley to win the WWE Championship in 2021, tweeted a GIF of Lashley and wrote the following about The All Mighty:

“A monster.

A specimen.

A professional.

A gentleman.”

• Cody Rhodes returned to WWE in 2022 at WrestleMania 38 and finished his story at WrestleMania 40 by winning the WWE Championship from Roman Reigns.

During an interview with Diamond Dallas Page, Cody revealed that he feared WWE fans would reject him:

“They could have just fully rejected me. Here’s this guy, he went off and started his own company, he was real bitter about how he left, mid-card, jobber, all of this, they really could’ve gone a different way with it and that wasn’t the case.

Somebody asked me at Mania, why do you think they’ve stuck with you and the only thing I could tell them was that I think it resonated with them, my story is a real story.”
