12. Top SmackDown Live Star Teases A Return, Shinsuke Nakamura Getting A WWE Title Shot
– 16 Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena teased a return to WWE programming with a recent tweet. Cena was last seen on WWE programming at WrestleMania 33, where he teamed up with Nikki Bella to defeat the team of The Miz & Maryse.
Below is what Cena tweeted:

We recently noted how Vince McMahon wants Cena to return to WWE programming earlier than expected due to low viewership for the blue brand. Cena is currently advertised to return to SmackDown Live on the July 4th episode.
– Former two time NXT Champion and current SmackDown Live Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura is advertised to get WWE Title shots against “The Maharaja” Jinder Mahal at WWE SmackDown Live Events in early July.
It should be noted that Nakamura isn’t getting a WWE Title shot because he’s soon going to be involved in the WWE Title picture on WWE programming, but because Randy Orton is going to take some time off from WWE Live Events (he will still work SmackDown Live every week though).
