Below are a couple of top Royal Rumble 2025 news stories of the day.

• There are rumors going on that WWE will announce that this Saturday’s Men’s & Women’s Royal Rumble matches will feature 40 participants each (something WWE did back in 2011, when Alberto Del Rio won).

However, that’s not the case. Here’s what Fightful Select reported:

“There was talk of WWE wrestlers mentioning ’40 person’ Royal Rumbles. This is not the plan and hasn’t been discussed or planned.”

• After making his debut in WWE, Penta has already defeated Chad Gable and Pete Dunne in singles matches on RAW.

Penta’s first official feud in the company will be against Ludwig Kaiser. On this week’s RAW, Kaiser approached Pete Dunne backstage, saying that he wants to show Penta a thing or two about ‘how things are done around here’.

The former AEW wrestler announced his entry into the Men’s Royal Rumble match on this week’s show.

According to Chris Featherstone, WWE has a strong performance booked for Penta this Saturday:

“I’ve been informed that WWE has ‘big plans’ for Penta heading into WrestleMania, starting with an impressive performance currently scheduled to occur at the Royal Rumble.”
