2. Rumor Killer On WWF Legend’s Claim Of Not Returning Anytime Soon
During a recent interview with the Washington Post, WWF Legend Chris Jericho (who is currently taking time off from WWE programming to do his Fozzy tour) talked about when he’ll return to WWE, his band Fozzy & more. Below are the highlights:
On when he’ll return to WWE:
“It’ll be a long time before I go back. If I ever do go back, if I never go back, it’s fine. If I never wrestle another match, it wouldn’t bother me.”
On fans coming to see Fozzy because of the band, as opposed to seeing Chris Jericho in WWE:
“WWE, it’s the brand name. I’m just a cog,” he said. “An important part of it, people like it. But this is our band. People are here to see us. That to me, is a little more of a rush. It’s not under the auspices of another name.”
This has resulted in many people believing that Jericho won’t be returning to WWE programming anytime soon. However, this isn’t the case. Jericho is “working the marks” in this interview (he’s done this many times before as well) and he’s expected to return in-time for SummerSlam 2017.
It should be noted that Jericho is being advertised three future WWE Live Events – June 28th WWE Raw Live Event in Singapore at Singapore Indoor Stadium and June 30th & July 1st Live Event in Tokyo, Japan.
Below are the matches that Jericho will be involved in during the Japan tour:
– June 30: Chris Jericho vs. Hideo Itami
– July 1: Intercontinental Championship Match: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor
