20. Big Surprise Title Change At WWE Live Event In Madison Square Garden

At last night’s WWE Live Event (with both Raw & SmackDown Live rosters) in Madison Square Garden, a very surprising Title change happened when “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens to win the United States Championship. This was one of the very rare occasions where a Title changed hands on a non-televised show.

In the main event of the show, “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns and “The New Face of Fear” Bray Wyatt collided and chaos ensued when Braun Strowman came out and took down Reigns. Cedric Alexander and R-Truth came out but they got taken down as well. Seth Rollins then came out to make the save, but got attacked by Wyatt. Roman then saved Rollins and they both cleared the ring to a big pop and ended the show on a high note.

Below are the results from the show:

– Shinsuke Nakamura def. Dolph Ziggler

– R-Truth def. Goldust

– Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose def. Intercontinental Champion The Miz & Samoa Joe

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match: Neville (c) def. Cedric Alexander to retain the Title.

United States Championship Match: AJ Styles def. Kevin Owens (c) to win the Title.

– Sasha Banks, Bayley & Mickie James def. Emma, Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax

– Finn Balor def. Karl Anderson

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Cesaro & Sheamus (c) def. The Hardy Boyz to retain the Titles.

– Roman Reigns def. Bray Wyatt

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer speculated that there could be two possible reasons behind this surprise Title change:

– Kevin Owens is possibly injured and needs to take time off.

– WWE officials wanted a big moment for their Live Event in MSG and want to increase the house show attendance by doing these surprises once in a while.
