Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Jeff Cobb and Aleister Black.
• Big WWE Debut Is Near
Jeff Cobb is reportedly on the verge of joining WWE following his recent departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and signs indicate he will bypass NXT and go directly to the main roster.
WrestleVotes confirmed that the former NJPW standout is expected to make his WWE debut soon:
“The hotly rumored and much-anticipated WWE debut of Jeff Cobb appears to be drawing closer. Sources indicate his name has recently been brought up in creative discussions. Time will tell how it all unfolds.”
The plan appears to be for Cobb to immediately join the main roster, with age cited as a key factor. Cobb’s name has already surfaced in internal creative discussions for the main roster.
Still, there is some internal debate. While upper-level creative seems to be positioning Cobb for an immediate RAW or SmackDown debut, others within WWE believe a run in NXT could benefit both Cobb and the developmental brand.
The thinking among some is that Cobb could serve as a valuable locker room leader and bolster an NXT men’s division that some feel is currently lacking star power.

• Zelina Vega Reveals What Triple H Said To Aleister Black After WWE Return
On last week’s post-WrestleMania 41 episode of SmackDown, Zelina Vega won the Women’s United States Championship and her husband, Aleister Black, returned to WWE.
Zelina recalled this night on Busted Open Radio:
“It really felt like the fairytale ending to that. The only other time I felt like something fit that perfectly is when Andrade and I were leaving NXT and we kind of ended the story with Aleister and end our story with Johnny (Gargano) and Candice (LeRae), tapping out to their finish, and it felt like, ‘That chapter is closed and now we can go to a new one.’
It felt like, after everything both him and I have been through, it felt like that chapter of the crazy is done and now we can start that new chapter.
I think he was so ready for that. He was so ready to return home. My favorite part, obviously seeing him go out there and do what he does, but [Triple H] hugging him after and saying, ‘Welcome home’ was really nice.”
