The May 17th episode of AEW Collision ended abruptly at 9:30 PM, cutting off the main event and confusing fans as Black Adam, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, suddenly began airing instead.
The scheduled main event was supposed to feature ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara facing CRU (Lio Rush & Action Andretti), a match that would help determine who will challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Double or Nothing. Instead, the match never aired.
AEW President Tony Khan addressed the issue on X:
“I’m sorry that technical issues with the transmission affected the final 30 mins of the feed earlier! You can all see the full show on TNT West NOW!”
A few minutes later, Khan tweeted again, directing fans to the TNT app where they could watch the West Coast feed in full. However, the issues continued. The West Coast airing was also disrupted, cutting off the final half-hour of the show.
Khan returned to Twitter once more, writing:
“There are ongoing transmission issues on tonight’s Saturday #AEWCollision. I’m so sorry, we all were expecting a full version to play on @TNTdrama West, but right now an ongoing technical issue that all believed to be fixed is still affecting the transmission of the final half hour even on TNT West.
We will get the full show up on @StreamOnMax asap, and I’m very sorry for this hassle!”
TNT also addressed the situation with a message across the screen that read:
“Due to technical difficulties, AEW Collision is not airing tonight. Please check allelitewrestling.com for wrestling updates.”
