• Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg Will Be The 2nd Highest Combined Age WWE Championship Match

Bobby Lashley will defend the WWE Championship against Hall Of Famer Bill Goldberg in the co-main event of SummerSlam 2021 this Saturday night.

This match will be the 2nd highest combined age WWE Championship match. Lashley is 45 years old and Goldberg is 54 years old, which makes the combined age of wrestlers in this WWE Title match to be 99.

The WWE Championship match that holds the record for this is the Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair title match from RAW in 2002. Hogan was 48 and Flair was 53 at the time, which makes the combined age 101.

Lashley & Goldberg will meet in the ring on tonight’s RAW.

• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 16, 2007) – Old School Wrestling Veteran Passed Away

On this day in 2007, we lost Old School Wrestling Veteran The Missing Link (Real name: Dewey Robertson) at the age of 68 due to lung cancer.

Dewey Robertson wrestled for several North American territories during the 60s, 70s & 80s, using different names & characters, before adapting the gimmick of “The Missing Link” in 1983, which he mainly used in Bill Watts’ Mid-South Wrestling, Fritz Von Erich’s World Class Championship Wrestling and Eddie Graham’s Championship Wrestling From Florida, before joining the World Wrestling Federation in 1985.

During his WWF days, The Missing Link was managed by Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and wrestled against WWF Superstars like Ivan Putski, Paul Orndorff, Tony Garea, Salvatore Bellomo and SD Jones.
