Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories, including a story on Bray Wyatt:

– Bray Wyatt unexpectedly passed away at the age of 36 after suffering a heart attack last week.

The former WWE Champion returned to the company at the Extreme Rules premium live event last year after being released in July 2021.

Wyatt’s last televised match was the Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match against LA Knight at the Royal Rumble earlier this year. It was his first televised match since WrestleMania 37, where he wrestled Randy Orton as The Fiend and lost.

Wyatt caught COVID-19 in February and was written off WWE programming indefinitely. It exacerbated heart issues and things got to a point where doctors recommended him to wear a heart defibrillator.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Wyatt actually started dealing with heart issues in 2021. It was kept secret from almost everyone, but a few people were aware of it.

The expectation was that he’d be back, but COVID-19 made his heart issues worse, leading to his demise unfortunately.

– It looks like Sonny Kiss has departed AEW.

Kiss, who had signed with All Elite Wrestling in February 2019 and was a part of the first ever show for the promotion, was recently removed from the AEW roster page on the promotion’s website.

Sonny’s contract likely expired and AEW President Tony Khan probably did not want to offer a new contract.

Kiss hadn’t wrestled for AEW since March and was mainly used on AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation shows. Sonny did not have a match on television since an episode of Rampage in August 2022. Sonny last wrestled on Dynamite in October 2020 in a match against Kenny Omega.

AEW and Kiss haven’t issued a statement regarding this situation.

Kiss is currently in Chicago for the Starrcast convention during the All Out weekend.
