• BREAKING NEWS: Bray Wyatt Released From WWE

WWE just made the following announcement:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Bray Wyatt. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”

This comes after Vince McMahon made the following statement about AEW signing released WWE wrestlers during the recent Q2 earnings call:

“I’m not so sure what their investments are as far as their talent is concerned, but perhaps we can give them some more.”

This was most probably Vince’s way of teasing more WWE wrestlers getting released in the future.

Former WWE Superstar & current Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Champion Karl Anderson tweeted the following about this:

“The amount of unhappy texts I get from people there, well, the whole professional wrestling world is waiting for ya…”

• On This Day In Wrestling History (July 31, 2015) – Old School WWF Legend Passed Away

On this day in 2015, we lost Old School WWF Legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (Real name: Roderick Toombs) at the age of 61 due to a cardiopulmonary arrest caused by a hypertension, because of a pulmonary embolism.

After touring the territories during the 70s & early 80s and after a brutal dog collar match against Greg “The Hammer” Valentine at the first Starrcade in 1983, Roddy Piper joined the World Wrestling Federation in early 1984, where he soon became the #1 villain who feuded with the #1 babyface in the promotion, Hulk Hogan.

Together, they main evented the first ever WrestleMania and put professional wrestling on the map, as we know it.

“Hot Rod” continued to wrestle for the WWF until 1992 (minus a hiatus for Hollywood in 1988), but returned several times in 1994, 1995 & 1996, before Roddy joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling at the Halloween Havoc 1996 PPV.

In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his old rival “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & † REST IN PEACE!
