During a recent interview with ‘VOC Nation’s In The Room’, WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Veteran Brian Kendrick (aka Spanky) praised his coach, DX founding member Shawn Michaels, as the perfect template for American pro wrestling.

Here’s what the former 2-time Tag Team Champion had to say about HBK:

“He’s the best. As far as the American style of modern pro wrestling, I think he’s the perfect template.

So it was amazing. On top of that, I was a fan of his work. Not just an admirer of what he does, but I enjoyed it, too.

So yeah, if I could’ve picked anybody to train under, it would have been Shawn Michaels, and I was lucky enough for that to happen.“

‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1988 until 1998 and again (for the renamed WWE) from 2002 till he officially retired in 2010.

The Showstopper eventually came out of retirement for one match on November 2nd 2018 at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, where he teamed up with his DX friend Triple H to defeat The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker & Kane).

Shawn reportedly made $3 million for this match. He then vowed to stay retired this time.
