• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (August 8, 1998) – WCW ROAD WILD 1998

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on August 8, 1998, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Road Wild 1998’ LIVE on PPV from the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota.

This was the third out of a total of 4 annual WCW events (1996-1999) from the Sturgis Harley Davidson Rally, and while all four events are usually destroyed by the critics for not earning a cent in revenue money because it was totally free for the bikers in attendance, they were still pretty cool & entertaining to watch for a fan, as a big outdoor event always had kind of a special feeling to it.

Here are the results:

– Meng defeated The Barbarian

– The Public Enemy defeated The Dancing Fools

– Raven’s Rules

Saturn defeated Raven & Kanyon

– #1 contender for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Rey Misterio Jr. defeated Psychosis

– WCW World Television Championship

Stevie Ray (c) defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr.

– Steve McMichael defeated Brian Adams

– WCW Cruiserweight Championship

Juventud Guerrera defeated Chris Jericho (c)

– Goldberg won the nWo Invitational Battle Royal

– Diamond Dallas Page & Jay Leno defeated Hollywood Hogan & Eric Bischoff

• Brock Lesnar Tells Vince McMahon What He Wants To Do Next

According to Joe Peisich on the Fired Up podcast, Universal Champion Brock Lesnar had a meeting with Vince McMahon last week and Brock revealed that he wants to work for both WWE & UFC at the same time.

This is similar to what WWE did back in 2016 when Lesnar was still under contract and fought in the UFC at their historic UFC 200 PPV.

Lesnar can definitely work for both WWE & UFC at the same time as he doesn’t work much WWE events anyway and he would have like two fights in the UFC in one year, so he can easily balance the schedule for both companies.

Also, Vince McMahon and UFC President Dana White wouldn’t have a problem with this either because when Brock worked the UFC 200 PPV, he helped in increasing the PPV numbers for that event and UFC promoted WWE’s SummerSlam 2016 event and WWE 2K17 video game in return for using Lesnar (who was under contract with WWE).

Announcement: We have launched our ‘WrestleFeed’ App on both Android & iOS. We’re trying to create Wrestling’s own Social Media with it.
