According to Ric Flair, Harley Race was tougher than Brock Lesnar.
‘Handsome’ Harley Race wrestled professionally for more than 30 years and is still considered one of the greatest and toughest pro-wrestlers of all time.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and passed away on August 1st 2019.
In an interview on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, Ric Flair spoke very highly of his former opponent and even stated that Harley would’ve done great in the UFC, if MMA was already around back in their prime during the 70s & 80s.
Here’s what The Nature Boy had to say:
“Harley would’ve been the king of the UFC if he was alive, without any training. You have no idea.
He’d headbutt ya, bite ya, I’ve seen him pull guy’s hair out of his head. UFC, as tough as they are, they’ve still got rules.
Brock is our version of Harley Race today. The difference is Brock wouldn’t bite your nose off. I don’t think he has it in him. Brock wouldn’t pull your eye out.
Many times. Simple, boom … I’ve seen it twice.
They were fans in the bar, starting a fight. These weren’t wrestlers, these were guys who thought they were tough.”
