• Bryan Danielson Says His Entire Neck Is Degenerating, Reveals If He’s Retired

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bryan Danielson gave an update on his neck problems and his future plans for wrestling.

Danielson said that his neck is having serious issues, with damage running all the way from the top of his neck down to his upper back (C1 to T2). He is right now at a point where he might need surgery.

“So I have degeneration from C1 all the way down to T2. Yeah (my entire neck). So it’s like I’m on the cusp of needing surgery.”

Bryan said he really wants to avoid surgery because he did not fully recover his strength and movement after his last one. He also jokes that having a neck operation would be impossible with his young son at home, who is always jumping on him despite his wife Brie’s warnings.

Because of these ongoing health issues, Danielson says that the “Bryan Danielson” who used to wrestle intense matches no longer exists. He hates using the word “retire” because he was forced to retire once before. However, he does not see himself returning to wrestle on television.

Instead, Danielson says he would only want to wrestle matches just for fun, away from TV cameras. He talked about his early career, where he learned to entertain non-wrestling fans at places like Butlins shows in the UK.

Danielson thinks he could still have “fun matches” that don’t focus on perfect technical wrestling, but he believes fans would not want to pay to see that less intense style of performance from him.

Bryan currently works as a Commentator on AEW TV.

• Good News For Braun Strowman After WWE Release

In positive news for the former WWE Universal Champion, Braun Strowman’s television career outside of the wrestling ring is set to continue.

Although Strowman was released from WWE and is reportedly still dealing with several long-term injuries that have forced him toward partial retirement from the ring, his show, Everything on the Menu, appears headed for renewal.

The cooking and entertainment program, which aired on the USA Network immediately following SmackDown, had been a relative success, even drawing higher ratings one week than both WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite.

Despite Strowman no longer being under contract with WWE, a development that cast doubt over the show’s future, the President of Entertainment at Versant, Val Boreland, revealed during an Investor Day presentation that Everything on the Menu is likely to be picked up for a second season.
