Shane ‘Hurricane’ Helms has strongly rebutted Buff Bagwell’s statements made on Dark Side of the Ring, calling his former WCW colleague a “lying POS”.

The latest episode of the popular VICE series delved into Bagwell’s life and career, shedding light on his struggles with substances and his brief stint with the WWF, which ended after a poorly received main event match with Booker T in 2001.

During the episode, Bagwell alleges that Helms called him a drug addict during a training session, leading to a physical altercation where Bagwell claims to have slapped Helms.

Bagwell further asserts that Helms retaliated by striking him with a frozen bottle of water, resulting in Buff needing 24 staples for his Monday Night RAW debut.

Buff suggests that his WWF release stemmed from being blamed for instigating the confrontation with Helms.

Responding to criticism on Twitter, Helms refuted Bagwell’s version of events, stating that witnesses present during the altercation would dispute Bagwell’s claims:

“I didn’t either. Buff is a lying POS. Always has been. There were witnesses there and NONE agree with Buff.

He used to blame Jim Ross too. Blamed everyone except the man in the mirror. Nothing wrong with failing at something, but accountability is key. Everyone associated with that episode of Dork Side can suck a$$.”

A fan tweeted:

“I’m not justifying anything he’s done. He was recently on an episode of Busted Open when DDP was a co-host & Buff sounds like a changed man & accepted responsibility for sh*t he’s done. I think with that said we should stop with the negativity towards him when he’s trying to change.”

Hurricane replied:

“He literally just went on a show and told a bunch of lies. No more second chances from me.”
