• Canceled Plan For Last Night’s CM Punk – Roman Reigns Segment Revealed
In the main event segment of last night’s RAW, Roman Reigns called out CM Punk. Roman welcomed Punk to his main event. Punk said only his friends and family are allowed to call him Phil. Punk said he definitely wouldn’t call Roman “Joe” because that would be an insult to a real samoan who he loves very much (referring to AEW star Samoa Joe). Punk said he has already won because he is in Roman’s head. Fans began singing Roman’s name and Roman said he is already in everyone’s mind.
Reigns said Punk hasn’t main evented anything this year and that Punk couldn’t even main event WWE’s European tour. Roman said Punk repeats the same crap as everyone…who’s the real Tribal Chief…he’s a part-timer. Roman told Punk to ask his wife (AJ Lee) how top dollar players operate.
Roman said everyone knows Punk is great on the mic and can talk the talk, but when the time for talking is over, Punk can’t walk the walk and can’t match him in the ring because he’s old and is making everyone in WWE look bad. Punk punched Reigns. WWE Producers and General Manager Adam Pearce ran out to separate them.
Reigns was smiling despite being attacked and said all it took was one comment to make the World Heavyweight Champion snap.
According to Bodyslam, the original plan for this segment was for Roman to address Punk’s disrespectful comment about his late father, Wild Samoan Sika, and have a “dark response” involving Larry (Punk’s late dog). However, WWE decided to cancel this plan for last night’s segment.
While the reason for the cancellation of this plan isn’t known at this time, it’s possible WWE is saving the Larry comment for the final segment between Reigns and Punk on the RAW before WrestleMania 42.
• Spoiler On WWE’s WrestleMania 42 Plan For Je’Von Evans
Penta recently captured his first title in WWE, when he defeated Dominik Mysterio to win the Intercontinental Championship. He has successfully defended the title against El Grande Americano #2 and Dragon Lee on RAW so far.
As we noted last night, WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select reported that Penta is expected to defend the Intercontinental Championship in a multi-man match at WrestleMania 42.
In an update from Self Made Pro, WWE wants to book Je’Von Evans in this multi-man title match. Je’Von said in his recent promos on RAW that he wants to be a champion in WWE. On last night’s RAW, he rejected Kofi Kingston’s offer to join The New Day.
The Intercontinental Championship was defended in a multi-man match at last year’s WrestleMania as well. It was a Fatal 4-Way match at WrestleMania 41, where Dominik Mysterio defeated Finn Balor, Penta, and Bron Breakker to win the title.
