During a recent edition of his podcast, WWF Attitude Era Legend Kurt Angle was asked who he thinks are the best wrestlers that aren’t in WWE.
Below is what Angle said:
“That’s easy, Kenny Omega. I might have to make him my girlfriend. I love Bryan Danielson, but you know what, Bryan Danielson has been part of WWE.”
When talking about the best women’s wrestlers, Angle said:
“[Mercedes Mone / Sasha Banks is] a good one to pick. That would be my favorite female [outside of WWE].
Listen, I love Charlotte Flair. I think she’s the best of all time. I actually think she’s the best wrestler in the world overall, I really do.
I think Charlotte Flair has had more consistent 5-star matches than any other person. She is really, really good. But Sasha Banks, Mercedes, she’s awesome too.”
Mercedes Mone is currently out of action with an ankle injury, that she suffered during a recent NJPW PPV match.
Charlotte Flair returned to WWE programming this past Friday on SmackDown, and challenged Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship. This title match will take place in 3 weeks on SmackDown.
Kenny Omega is the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion and will defend the Title against Will Ospreay at this month’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door PPV.
Also at Forbidden Door, Bryan Danielson will face Kazuchika Okada.
