• Chris Jericho Defends Disco Inferno
A fan recently bad-mouthed WCW Veteran Disco Inferno in favor of current NXT wrestler Mia Yim.
Below is what the fan tweeted:
“People will pay to see @MiaYim. No one has ever paid a dime to see @TheRealDisco…….ever! He’s a joke and embarrassment to wrestling. That’s why you never held a title for anyone. Ever. How you ever got a job with any promotion is beyond comprehension.”

A lot of fans stood up for Disco after this:
Expect @TheRealDisco has held multiple titles worldwide 13 or so by my count and was one of the most over acts ever in the 90’s! more over than 95% of today’s talents

I literally did the Disco dance as a little kid in front of the tv, was pissed when Booker beat him for the TV title and he was one of the top 3 guys I wanted to see when WCW Saturday Night came to my city

Dude… he's held titles in WCW. When did you start watching wrestling? He was actually a hilarious character and wrestled just fine. I've watched wrestling for 33 years now (41 years old). Most wrestlers these days don't even HAVE a character. Come on??♂️

I don’t think you realize how over disco was on nitro, he got some of the biggest crowed reactions for months just behind the NWO and sting
— Adam Hassan (@Turkishwarrior3) December 8, 2019
Disco being over reminds me of Mizdow as the stunt double. Pure passion and believing in the character.
— Nicholas Todriff (@TodriffNicholas) December 8, 2019
More people paid to see disco than Mia. I don’t even know what show she is on. I’m sure she is really over ?
— Mitch Polacek (@Polac3k) December 8, 2019
What's a Mia Yim? I've heard of The Disco Inferno..
— CAZZ3319 (@cazz3319) December 8, 2019
What world do you live in?
— Jonny (@cornyoccultist) December 8, 2019
@TheRealDisco had a really bad gimmick and made it work and entertaining. Hell I was the @TheRealDisco at my 8th grade Halloween Dance and won! Now who the hell is @MiaYim? Isn't she a annoying soccer player?

Who is Mia Yim?

He has held the Cruiserweight title and TV title. Not to mention don't believe everything on Wikipedia. Anyone can change the information on there.
— Curtis Rogers (@phoenixreigns83) December 8, 2019
Also WCW tag titles w/ Alex Wright

#WcWTvchamp #Hbic He obviously has no clue about wrestling history. Check your facts and leave such hate at the door. Every pro wrestler puts thier body on the line to entertain us fans. Props to Mia and Disco for handling this woth class
— Nicholas Todriff (@TodriffNicholas) December 8, 2019
Who would pay to see Mia ? Disco part of the actual wrestling boom that sold out arenas even on the tv side!
— Ian (@Sir____IAN) December 8, 2019
Disco was more over than 95% of today's talent
— Chris Lonas (@XtremeEffect) December 8, 2019
Current AEW World Champion Chris Jericho also went on to defend Disco by tweeting the following:
“Totally not true jerkoff. @TheRealDisco was great at what he did and I LOVED working with him. So shut your a** and eff off.”
