CM Punk returned to the ring at last night’s WWE Live Event at Madison Square Garden for a singles match.

He faced former 2-time NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day and won after hitting a GTS. Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley accompanied Dirty Dom.

Below are a couple of videos, including the finish of the match:

This was Punk’s first WWE match since the 2014 Royal Rumble match. In the post-match promo, he said the following:

“When I win the Royal Rumble and go on to main event WrestleMania, that isn’t me finishing my story… that’s just me getting started.”

AEW star Chris Jericho commented the following under WWE’s Instagram post about Punk’s match:

“Congrats! 🔥🔥🔥”

This is interesting, as Jericho got into an argument with Punk’s lawyer about the All Out 2022 fight a few days back, where he wrote the following:

“I saw EVERYTHING that night… including how Lucy (and her husband and best buddy) acted and what really went down… and since I was in the room and watching her and everybody else the whole time.. I know exactly what really happened.

And considering you weren’t there and I was… maybe you should shut your mark a$$ up. Because what really went down was disgusting…”

Around 16,000 fans were in attendance, which was WWE’s highest recorded attendance at Madison Square Garden in over 8 years.

CM Punk’s next match will now be at the December 30th WWE Live Event in Inglewood, where he’ll face Dominik once again.

Punk is scheduled to return to TV on the January 8th episode of RAW in Portland.

After that, he will appear on the January 22nd RAW in New Orleans, before
entering the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match on January 27th.
