• Chris Jericho Reacts To Michael Cole Saying Edge Invented The Money In The Bank Ladder Match

During the main event of last night’s Money In The Bank 2021 pay-per-view, Michael Cole said that WWE Hall Of Famer Edge invented the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

A lot of fans then tweeted about this to Chris Jericho, the man who actually came up with the idea of the Money In The Bank (Edge won the 1st ever Money In The Bank ladder match in 2005, but didn’t come up with the idea).

Jericho tweeted the following:

“True story!!! @bfg728 (former WWE writer Brian Gewirtz) and I came up with that entire match concept. Well almost all of it…@VinceMcMahon insisted that the contract be in a briefcase.”

Gewirtz tweeted the following:

“16 years ago this was originally conceived as a 1-time only “Hollywood Dream” match with RVD climbing a ladder, grabbing a contract & declaring his dream was to bring back ECW. I think we had potential “dreams” for everyone. Wish I remembered them. Anyway, happy & safe #MITB!”
