• Why Is WWE Using John Cena On Tonight’s RAW?
16-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena has returned to WWE after almost 16 months.
He returned after the Money In The Bank main event match between Roman Reigns & Edge, did the “You Can’t See Me” taunt in front of Reigns.
Cena has now announced that he will kick off tonight’s RAW and reveal why he’s back in the WWE.
Here’s what Cena said in his announcement:
“I’m not gonna make you wait for answers. I am kicking off Monday Night RAW to tell you my motivation.”
This began speculation that WWE might have changed plans for Cena, and that he might face someone from RAW at SummerSlam.
However, that’s not the case.
According to Fightful Select, Cena is booked for both RAW & SmackDown shows in his current run, as he’s still a Free Agent, who can appear on both brands.
The plan is still for him to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021.
WWE is bringing Cena to RAW to help with the TV viewership & ratings.
