• Chris Jericho Says WWE Resists Pushing Talent If They Get Over On Their Own

Former WWE wrestlers Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins were recent guests on the Talk Is Jericho podcast. Ryder and Hawkins discussed their WWE runs, and how there were many obstacles for them backstage.

Ryder and Hawkins noted how the “Long Island Iced Z” was over back in the day, but WWE didn’t support him.

At one point, the whole Madison Square Garden was chanting Ryder’s name, and Triple H called Ryder to ask him why he had dyed his hair before the show. He thought that The Game wanted to congratulate him, but he was a bit upset over him dying his hair.

Chris Jericho noted that WWE is hesitant to push a wrestler if he/she gets over with the fans on their own:

“There is a strange resentment where, if Vince doesn’t think of it, it’s not valid or real. The same thing happened with Daniel Bryan when he first came in. He got over because he knows how to get over, but they resisted it for so long until they didn’t have a choice. I feel the same thing happened with Zack Ryder.”
