Following his AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxley in the main event of the All Out pay-per-view last year, CM Punk ranted about his problems with The Elite during the post-show media scrum and took multiple shots at Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page.
This led to a brawl between the two sides backstage, and they were suspended from AEW by President Tony Khan for several months while the incident was being investigated.
Before the Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view last month, Punk shared a photo of a T-Shirt for the event on his Instagram story, and made fun of the fact that the T-Shirt had Saturday, July 21st written on it instead of Friday, July 21st, which was the actual day of the show.
He captioned it:
“Absolutely not shocking. How could this happen?”
Below is a screenshot of his story:
The Wrestling Observer reports that this mistake was rectified quickly, and no wrong shirts were sold, although some were printed out.
It should be noted that Dana Massie, the wife of Matt Jackson, is the Chief Marketing and Merchandising Officer for AEW.
The Wrestling Observer noted that why Punk did that is unknown, but some people in AEW saw this as a shot at Dana.
