During the UFC 225 post-fight press conference, UFC President Dana White noted that this is it for CM Punk in the UFC. But that’s not it.
Along with Punk, his victorious UFC 225 opponent Mike Jackson’s UFC career is over as well, according to Dana White.
Below is what Dana said:
“No, it should be a wrap. The guy (CM Punk) is 39 years old. We gave him two shots, and he had a lot of heart tonight, and I think he should call it a wrap.
Punk got clipped a lot in that fight, and it looked like he was hurt. Mike Jackson I’m not happy with. This guy was acting like a goofball tonight. You get this opportunity to fight CM Punk, and you’re doing, like, bolo punches to the body on top. Never looked like he was trying to finish the fight ever. Looked like he could have finished the fight a few times. Never tried.
I don’t know what that guy did for a living before we gave him the shot, but whatever it was, he needs to go back and do that again. He’s 0-2 as far as I’m concerned.
I got the sense that he’s a complete f***ing idiot, and I couldn’t wait for that fight to end, and I regretted not putting that fight on Fight Pass. That’s how I felt about that fight.
That’s it for his (Mike Jackson) UFC career. I wouldn’t put that kid in the Contender Series.”
Below is what Mike tweeted after listening to Dana’s comments:
I’m legit confused here. I’m trying to figure out how I was “cocky” & “taunting”?! I’m sorry, I didn’t knock out Phil, dude is hella tough. And I didn’t want to get caught with some dumb shit. pic.twitter.com/ucCb0y8HwT

Speaking of Punk, he made his first comments after his loss on Twitter and you can check it out below:
You win some, you lose some! I'm 1-1 this week and I'll take it! Thanks to my team, my family, my friends, and THE FANS! Wouldn't be here without any of you. Respect to @TheTruthJackson, thanks for the fight! You only live once, and… I'M ALIVE! pic.twitter.com/UPPGFpx4iS

It’ll be interesting to see if Punk addresses the comments WWE commentator Corey Graves made after Punk’s loss last night. You can check them out below:
Maybe abandoning everybody who stood by your side, even when we weren’t supposed to, only to have you turn your back on us wasn’t the right move after all? No anger. Only sadness.
— Corey Graves (@WWEGraves) June 10, 2018
Awww. Seems the “fans” are disappointed. Maybe you guys should know that “That Dude” held my first son before I did because I was on tour and I trusted him.
I had dinner with him the week after he quit.

The first rule of “punk rock” is loyalty, and this guy betrayed it all.
I still love you, “friend” and I’m sorry you got lost.
— Corey Graves (@WWEGraves) June 10, 2018
Don’t worry, hey @VinceMcMahon this has nothing to do with you.
You either @TripleH
This isn’t corporate. This is real life.
Calm down internerds.

Graves then responded to some fan comments and explained why he took shots at Punk. You can check them out below:
My loyalty? Oh, would you like the BEFORE? Or AFTER? I’ve got both.
I mean, one can only be shit on by their “best friend” for so long before they smarten up, no?
But it’s cool. I’m sure you love Kenny Omega. And you know more about this business and friendship than I do. ?
— Corey Graves (@WWEGraves) June 10, 2018
Dude, I’m far from distraught. I’m in a good place. I’m just really bummed that I had a true friend turn his back on me for no other reason than the company that employs me.
