CM Punk will have his first WWE match in almost 10 years at tonight’s Live Event at Madison Square Garden.
He will face former 2-time NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day tonight.
Below is the statement that he issued ahead of tonight’s match on his Instagram story:
“Grateful for all the fans who have carried me to the greatest moments. Thankful for the legends that paved the roads I travel. I wouldn’t be who I am without all of you. Thank you. ‘So goes the Garden, so goes the business’.”
Sami Zayn will also return at tonight’s Live Event. He asked for some time off recently and was granted it. He was originally scheduled to return on the “Day 1” edition of RAW on January 1st 2024, but he is returning earlier than expected.
Here’s what Sami tweeted:
“I WILL be performing on WWE’s Holiday Tour. 5 great cities in 5 nights to end 2023, the wildest year of my career.
Tonight – MSG. New York City
Tomorrow – Boston
Dec 28 – Montreal
Dec 29 – Toronto
Dec 30 – Los Angeles
Crazy times. Lots of love.
Thanks for letting me play x
Haven’t been very active on here lately. It’s been a crazy and in some ways difficult time for me, but I’m so grateful to be in such great cities, with such great fans, to end such a remarkable year.
This life has been too good to me. Just know I’m very happy to be here with you.”
Here are some of the advertised matches for tonight:
– CM Punk vs. Dominik Mysterio
– Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship
– Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in a Bullrope Match
This will be the first Bullrope Match at MSG since 1978.
