On this day in Pro Wrestling history on September 1, 1986, CWF Championship Wrestling From Florida held ‘NWA Battle of the Belts 3’ at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.

This was the last of 3 ‘NWA Battle of the Belts’ events, promoted by the CWF territory.

AWA World Championship: Nick Bockwinkel (c) beat Kendo Nagasaki by DQ

The Road Warriors wrestled Ed Gantner & Kareem Muhammad to a double DQ

Kendall Windham defeated Bahamas Champ Chris Champion by DQ.

NWA World Championship: Ric Flair (c) wrestled Lex Luger to a draw

Florida Title: Barry Windham pinned Ron Bass (c)

• CM Punk On Meeting The Undertaker After People Were Trying To Get Him Fired From WWE

During his appearance at Starrcast III, former WWE wrestler CM Punk talked about going to FCW (when he was the ECW Champion) for a dark match.

Over there, Al and Nova tried to get Punk fired from WWE. Punk also had a heated encounter with WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas. Tony didn’t understand by Punk taped his fists for matches and they had a back & forth regarding it.

Tony said Punk would never make it to WWE TV because he doesn’t listen to this coaches, but Punk was already the ECW Champion at that time. Tony called Punk “a$$hole” during a meeting multiple times and this led to Punk saying “f*ck you”.

After this encounter with Tony Atlas, Punk was told to talk to The Undertaker as people were trying to turn Taker against Punk and eventually get him fired.

Punk then met The Phenom and said “did you hear any good stories lately?”. Taker laughed and they cleared everything up later.
