• CM Punk Says He Doesn’t Hate Going To Saudi Arabia

During the Backlash premium live event, WWE announced that the Night of Champions 2025 PLE will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on June 28.

CM Punk was shown in the promo for this PLE, thus indicating that he might appear on the show. If that happens, then it’ll be Punk’s first appearance at a WWE event in Saudi Arabia.

The Wrestling Observer reported the following about Punk possibly working this upcoming premium live event:

“Guys have the option not to go (to Saudi Arabia) but they are pressured to go, like pretty hardy. [CM Punk] said he would never go. But you know, people say a lot of things.”

In 2020, Punk said the following to The Miz on Twitter:

“Go suck a blood money covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia you f**king dork.”

On social media, fans called Punk a ‘sellout’ and a ‘hypocrite’ after he appeared in the promo for Night of Champions.

During a Live Q&A session on Instagram, a fan asked Punk why he hates going to Saudi Arabia. Punk replied:

“I’ve never been to Saudi, I don’t hate coming to Saudi.”

It should be noted that Night of Champions is going to be the only Saudi Arabia PLE for 2025, instead of the usual two. That’s because WWE will host 3 PLEs in Saudi next year, including Royal Rumble 2026.

Crown Jewel 2025 will take place in Perth, Australia on October 11.

• Steve Austin Gives His Thoughts On John Cena’s Heel Run So Far

On The Ariel Helwani Show, Stone Cold Steve Austin had the following to say about Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena’s ongoing heel run so far:

“I love what Cena’s doing, I love the way that guy talks, his promos, where he’s going with it. I think he’s gonna look back and love what he’s doing.”

Regarding his own heel turn at WrestleMania 17 in 2001, Austin said:

“That really kind of reinvigorated me, and we were both in there, the No. 1 and 2 babyfaces, the No. 1 and 2 talents in the world — going head-to-head.

But I would’ve called that audible and I would’ve told Vince, after it’s all said and done, watch the Stunner. I would’ve dropped him on that stack of dimes he called a neck, and I would’ve stayed a babyface.”
