It’s been almost one year since the infamous brawl between CM Punk and The Elite took place backstage after the 2022 AEW All Out pay-per-view.

Punk is no longer with AEW after having a two month run with the company following his return on the debut episode of AEW Collision back in June.

The former AEW World Champion was fired by Tony Khan on Saturday after an investigation into his fight with “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage at All In last week was concluded.

According to Haus Of Wrestling, a meeting between the relevant members of The Elite, CM Punk and Tony Khan was scheduled to take place last week in Atlanta, a few days before the All In pay-per-view, but it was called off at the last minute by The Elite’s camp.

The goal of that meeting was for both sides to bury the hatchet before AEW’s biggest show, but it obviously wasn’t achieved.

Punk’s list of enemies in AEW grew significantly after his return, which didn’t help him at all and ultimately led to his departure from the company.
