Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring CM Punk and Claudio Castagnoli.

• CM Punk Took Money From A Billionaire’s Kid To Tear Down WWE, Says Top Star

During an interview on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, WWE Superstar Seth Rollins took several shots at CM Punk and made references to AEW President Tony Khan:

“He’s a thief, he’s a scavenger, he’s a fake martyr, he’s a snake oil salesman, he’s a con artist. He will sell you a false bill of goods at every turn with no apologies, with zero responsibility.

He’s a guy who left this place, ghosted all of his friends which again, if you’ve got your personal crap to deal with, hey, that’s life I get it, but to then ask people to leave their jobs, leave their security, leave their dreams behind out of loyalty to you.

And then when they don’t, you start to tear these people down in the media and then you take money from some billionaire’s kid to come back to the business that you’ve forsaken and then try to tear down our company until that billionaire’s kid doesn’t want to pay you anymore, and now you come back and take our money and wave the flag.

I cannot tell you the absolute disgust in my veins that I have for Punk.”

Rollins will face Punk and Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 this Saturday night. On last night’s RAW, Rollins laid out both Punk and Reigns with stomps.

• WCW Veteran Criticizes AEW For Not Booking Claudio Castagnoli As A Monster

WCW Veteran Konnan has voiced his disappointment with how AEW is currently using Trios Champion Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro in WWE). Despite being a fan of the Swiss star personally, Konnan believes All Elite Wrestling has failed to capitalize on his potential.

Speaking on a recent episode of his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan said, “I love Claudio as a person, but I’m not interested in him or anything they’ve done with him, which is unfortunate.”

He pointed to Castagnoli’s strong debut in AEW as a contrast to his current role: “Remember when they first came in, they brought him in like this monster? Look at him now.”

Castagnoli is currently part of the Death Riders faction alongside AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Most recently, he teamed with Wheeler Yuta in a tag team loss to Samoa Joe and Hook on last week’s AEW Dynamite.
