CM Punk’s UFC Debut Confirmed, WWE Signing Its First Fourth Generation Pro Wrestler? Brand Split Plans For The Women’s Division

WWE Brand Split Returns - July 2016 (New Era of WWE)

3. WWE Signing Its First Fourth Generation Pro Wrestler?

Wrestling Observer recently reported that WWE is interested in signing the son of former WWF Intercontinental Champion Jacques Rougeau, Jr (who also played The Mountie). Below is what Dave Meltzer wrote about Jacques’ son:

“Cedric Rougeau, the 6-foot-7 and nearly 300 pound son of Jacques Rougeau Jr., was talked with about being signed on 5/4 before the show in Montreal. Both Jacques Jr. and Cedric met with WWE officials that afternoon for about 20 minutes. Regal was also in Montreal that afternoon doing a tryout and seminar. Both Rougeaus left before the show started.

Cedric started wrestling in 2010 for his father, but it’s a very different deal in that on his father’s show, the wrestlers go in the gym and practice out their entire match for a long time before the match. He’s never worked a traditional style where maybe you’ll work through things a few hours before the show. The feeling is, besides the size, the positives are he speaks English and French fluently, and because of the influence of Pat Patterson, they do like the idea of a Montreal-based star, although with Owens and Zayn they will have that covered.

Cedric Rougeau, if he signs, will probably be the first fourth generation pro wrestler in WWE. People know about his father, and his grandfather (Jacques Rougeau Sr., a Montreal pro wrestling icon), but his great great uncle was Eddy Auger, also a pro wrestler.”
