Following his AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxley in the main event of the All Out pay-per-view last year, CM Punk ranted about his problems with The Elite during the post-show media scrum and took multiple shots at Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and “Hangman” Adam Page.

This led to a brawl between the two sides backstage, and they were suspended from AEW by President Tony Khan for several months while the incident was being investigated.

AEW Producer Ace Steel (a close friend of CM Punk) was on Punk’s side during the brawl and he allegedly bit Kenny Omega when the two sides were fighting.

Steel was released by AEW last year, but he was brought back and given back pay later on Punk’s insistence when he returned to the company earlier this summer.

According to PWInsider, Steel was fired by AEW earlier today.

He wasn’t allowed to physically work at the tapings before being fired, and had been working remotely via Zoom calls. There had been talk over the last month that AEW was looking into a space in Florida for Steel to train and work with talents, but that obviously will not happen now.

Steel was viewed as an insurance risk by AEW.
