During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cody Rhodes talked about the time Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard visited him in early 2022, to discuss his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38.
Cody revealed that he was surprised to learn that McMahon knew what he did in AEW.
Below is what The American Nightmare said:
“I think he laughed. He has that like, ‘Hahahaha!’ I remember going in to talk to him. I wasn’t afraid of anything and I was over-compensating because both Vince and Bruce were so welcoming and so positive about what I had done.
The fact that they knew what I had done and actually were citing different things. Like, ‘I saw this, I saw this,’ I couldn’t believe it.”
Speaking of returning to WWE in 2022, Cody told Randy Orton that he thought he was going to get booed by the fans at WrestleMania 38.
Below is what he said during an interview with Denise Salcedo:
“I told Randy before I went out in Dallas that I thought [the fans] were gonna boo. I did. I thought they were gonna boo.
Seth had carried the whole story to Mania and I was the other guy and they didn’t. I just told your partner this, but they got it.”
