• Cody Rhodes Expected To Sign A WWE Contract Soon

Earlier this morning, the Wrestling Observer reported that Cody Rhodes still hasn’t signed a new contract with AEW, and they aren’t sure if Cody will end up re-signing.

They also noted that there were talks going on backstage in WWE on Monday regarding the possibility of Cody returning to WWE.

A few hours later, AEW President Tony Khan officially announced Cody and Brandi Rhodes’ departure from the company (tap here to read Tony’s statement).

Andrew Zarian then reported that Cody has been in talks with WWE:

“I can confirm that Cody’s camp has been in contact with WWE officials.”

WrestleVotes then reported that Cody and WWE are expected to reach a deal soon:

“Spoke to a source just now that fully anticipates WWE coming to an agreement with Cody Rhodes. Unbelievable.”

Ariel Helwani is also reporting the same:

“Huge developing news in the world of pro wrestling:

I’m told Cody Rhodes and WWE are in fact talking about him returning to the organization in the near future.”

Cody worked for WWE for 10 years, from 2006 to 2016 (including his 1 year on the developmental territory).
