• Cody Rhodes Requested To Stay Away From Top WWE Star
The upcoming Street Fighter movie will feature Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as Guile and 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns as Akuma.
Recently, Cody revealed in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that the two were largely kept apart on set to avoid any potential conflict. The American Nightmare explained how careful the production team was about their movements on set.
“We had one day on set, and the way the set was, and he could probably reiterate this. I think they thought we were going to fight or have issues for real because they were very cognizant on the radios of us (and saying), ‘Stepping out with Guile, Akuma will be coming on.’ They were very cognizant that we would not cross paths. And we did, because I had to tell him the direction of one of the trailers, and that was our only moment, and it was very awkward.”
Reigns addressed Cody Rhodes’ comments in an interview with Adam Glyn, joking that Cody was a little nervous about him showing up on set and wanted to stay out of his way.
“I heard that, and the rumor is that he was requesting that. He was a little nervous that I was showing up because he got there before me and there was only a couple days of crossover.
You know what it is. Tribal Chief comes to town, he gets a little nervous. He don’t know what to do.”
• WWE Names New Permanent NXT General Manager After Ava’s Departure
WWE has officially named a new permanent General Manager for NXT following Ava’s departure over a month ago. Robert Stone had been overseeing the brand as the interim GM during that time, but he has now been given the role on a full-time basis.
Before last night’s NXT live event in Wichita, Kansas, Stone shared a video on X where he announced the news himself. Here’s what he said:
“All right, we’re here about to kick things off at NXT Live in Wichita, Kansas. But I just wanted to say thank you so much to William Regal. Thank you so much to Shawn Michaels. And thank you to the WWE Universe, ’cause everyone heard you. It is official, no more interim — you’re looking at, right here, Robert Stone, the General Manager of NXT. And that is now set in stone.”
Thank you #WWEUniverse.
