Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Cody Rhodes and Liv Morgan.
• In an interview on the Flagrant podcast, Cody Rhodes shared that Vince McMahon was initially cautious about his departure from AEW, wanting to ensure it wasn’t just part of a storyline. McMahon was particularly careful to avoid any actions that could be perceived as contract tampering.
After confirming that Rhodes’ exit from AEW was legitimate, McMahon extended an offer, taking a traditional approach by personally flying to Atlanta for a face-to-face conversation with Rhodes.
Interestingly, McMahon had first learned about Rhodes’s departure through the ‘dirt sheets’ (wrestling news sites).
Here’s what The American Nightmare said:
“He found out through the dirt sheets — we need a better name for our wrestling media, but that’s what we call them — the dirt sheets.
He found out that I’m free, free — nobody wanted to dabble — this isn’t a storyline, if this is a bit then we don’t need to be talking because that’s trouble.
He found out that I was free, free, and it was really old school. He sat down and said, ‘hey, there’s no promises except for we are considering you wrestling Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas.’”

• During an interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan was asked about her upcoming 5-year plan.
Here’s what Morgan said:
“I just signed a new 5-year deal, so my five-year plan is WWE. That’s my five-year plan.”
Liv, along with Raquel Rodriguez, brutally assaulted Rhea Ripley on this week’s episode of NXT. WWE later announced that The Nightmare has suffered a fractured right orbital socket, which will put her out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.
This Saturday at the Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia, Morgan will face WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax to crown the first-ever Women’s Crown Jewel Champion.
