Conor McGregor Announces Return Date, Opponent & New Weight

Former 2-division UFC World Champion Conor McGregor has announced his return date and it won’t be at UFC 300 in April.

McGregor revealed that he will face Michael Chandler on June 29, 2024 at 185 lbs (Middleweight). This is going to be McGregor’s first ever fight at Middleweight.

Here’s what Conor said:

“Ladies and gentlemen, a Happy New Year to you all. I’d like to announce the return date for myself, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, the greatest comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week, June the 29th… and the opponent, Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr. Chandler, 185 pounds (laughs).”

Chandler replied the following:

“Here we go. Any weight is good with me. I always said I wanted you at your biggest, your baddest and your best. 185 would look good on me.”

McGregor’s last fight took place at UFC 264 on July 10th 2021, where he broke his leg in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

Conor’s last win was against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18th 2020, where he picked up a 40-second TKO victory.

Chandler’s last fight was a loss to Poirier as well, which took place at UFC 281 on November 12th 2022 via submission.
