Between 1998 and 2001, he formed the well remembered Attitude Era Tag Team ‘Kaientai’ with his tag team partner Funaki.

• Conor McGregor Expresses Interest In Joining WWE, Reveals His 3-Fight UFC Plan For 2020

MMA Journalist Ariel Helwani reported the following regarding Conor McGregor’s UFC return plan for 2020:

“Conor McGregor announces at a press conference in Moscow this AM that he has agreed to return to action on Jan. 18 in. T-Mobile. He did not name the opponent. Fight isn’t signed.

Two leading candidates are Cerrone and Gaethje. Cerrone is the frontrunner at this time, I’m told. McGregor pushed for 12/14 versus Edgar but those talks never went anywhere because the UFC really didn’t want that fight.

They actually weren’t even scheduled to have a PPV in January but once it became clear McGregor was ready to return they came up with this 1/18 date.

McGregor wanted to return on 12/14 but that didn’t make financial sense since they already had the 3 title fights booked for that card.

McGregor is looking at 2020 as “a season.” He wants 3 fights next year: 1/18, winner of Masvidal/Diaz and then the winner of Khabib/Ferguson. And if Khabib wins versus Ferguson, he really wants the rematch in Moscow, I’m told.”

During this press conference, McGregor was asked about a possible move to WWE (similar to Ronda Rousey’s WWE run) and below is what he said:

“I’ve had a beef with those guys over the years. But maybe the WWE.”

For those who don’t remember, McGregor took shots at WWE wrestlers to promote his second fight against Nate Diaz in 2016.

Below is what McGregor said:

“The rest are dweebs. What’s the main guy? John Cena. He’s 40, he’s 40 years of age. He’s walking around in a illuminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about [how] no one can see him. We can see him right there, he’s a big fat 40 year old failed Mr. Olympia motherf**ker! They’re dweebs, those guys!

Like I said, no disrespect to the Dons of the game. I mean Vinny Mac’s a f**king legend. They wrote Vinny Mac a couple of years ago, then he rose back up and he’s back in the billionaires club.

What he’s been able to do with that bunch of dweebs he has over there at the moment has been phenomenal and I respect him for that. And then of course, the old G’s of the game – The Rock, Stone Cold – they’re all cool motherf**kers.

Even Ric Flair’s a cool motherf**ker… but that new age of those guys are absolute dweebs… it ain’t trash talk, it’s true talk!”
