Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Goldberg, Bret Hart and Bayley.

• Bret Hart never leaves a chance of taking shots at Goldberg for accidentally hurting him in WCW.

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle was asked about this during an interview with SK Wrestling. Riddle, who has had his own issues with Goldberg in the past, took Goldberg’s side against The Hitman:

“I don’t know about him not being able to let go of this whole Goldberg thing. Goldberg’s come out and said it wasn’t intentional. I never would have done it. Well, it’s not a matter of intentions.

Honestly, I think that’s one of Bret’s flaws. You know? Because honestly, I can hold a grudge against a lot of people. Especially, you know, the sh*t people. The things people have said about me that are lies and everything else.

I just… What am I supposed to do? Complain? Get out of my soapbox and preach about it? I don’t care. The cream always rises to the top. I’ll just keep working hard and doing the right thing.”

Goldberg and Riddle squashed their issues and were seen hugging during a WWE documentary for SummerSlam 2021.

• During an interview with Adrian Hernandez before SummerSlam, Bayley was asked about WWE’s latest women’s signings: Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia.

Here’s what the former WWE Women’s Champion said:

“I love that we have a division that women from all around the world want to come to and they all want a piece of. I feel like it was like that a lot when NXT, when we were in NXT, when we were coming up to RAW and SmackDown.

Now it’s kind of peaking again. I think now we are putting out the kind of competition that women want to be a part of and test themselves with. Obviously, there’s companies all over the world they can have their choice of and they chose us.

I really need to step my game up. That’s really what it’s come to. I’ve had that conversation with myself. There’s been a long time where I’m like, alright, I’m here. I’m a locker room leader. I’m a champion, but with these new girls coming in, they don’t care. They’re going to take everything from me and I have to fight for it.”
